Position Summary:
UCAIR is seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented, and passionate individual to join our team from September to December for a paid internship. This position offers flexibility, requiring 15-20 hours per week on a hybrid basis from either our Salt Lake City office or remotely.
As an intern, you will work closely with our Program & Grants Manager, gaining valuable experience by helping to coordinate UCAIR’s diverse portfolio of programs and contributing to the overall mission to improve Utah’s air.
Responsibilities:
- Program & Partner Support
- Aid the Program & Grants Manager to administer UCAIR’s programs, including tracking progress, organizing data, communicating with partners, and preparing reports & updates.
- Support the program team by scheduling meetings and coordinating logistics as required.
- Community Engagement
- Increase UCAIR’s visibility and establish strong community connections by attending relevant meetings and events, and actively engaging with stakeholders.
- Grant Support
- Conduct research to identify grant opportunities aligned with UCAIR’s mission and programming.
- Assist the Program & Grants Manager with the grant process by gathering data, collaborating on proposals & reports, and conducting pre-submission reviews.
- Administrative Tasks
- Collaborate in the development of engaging written and visual content for distribution across multiple platforms (i.e. UCAIR blog).
- Answer email & phone inquiries from the public and stakeholders.
- Prepare and update project management plans and meeting notes.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university.
- Demonstrated interest in air quality and/or completed coursework in relevant fields, such as environmental studies, sustainability studies, and nonprofit management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Comfortable using Google Workspace and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with WordPress, Canva, and CRM systems is a plus.
- Spanish language skills are also a plus, but not required.
Time Commitment:
- Availability to commit 15-20 hours per week from September to December.
- Willingness to attend occasional evening events and/or community meetings.
Benefits:
- This is a paid position with a rate of $20/hour.
- Hybrid schedule with the flexibility to work remotely or during nontraditional hours as needed.
