A group of Utah organizations will host a virtual panel on the issue of police reform. The panel will include speakers from the Salt Lake chapter of NAACP, Utah Chiefs of Police Association, the Salt Lake City Council, and Utah Against Police Brutality, and will be moderated by Meredith Reed from the League of Women Voters. Panelists will discuss a host of issues surrounding police reform, including the issue of “defunding the police”—a slogan and policy that has been pushed in recent months with activists. Cosponsored by League of Women Voters, Better Utah Institute, ACLU Utah, Action Utah, NAACP Salt Lake Branch, and Utah Black Roundtable.
